Guacamole is a personal thing. Everyone thinks that their version is the best, but I have come to believe that there is no “best” guacamole recipe, just what you happen to like. And I happen to like it simple.
Ripe avocado, coarsely smashed with a fork, a finely diced ripe tomato, lime juice, salt, pepper, and a bit of ground cumin (but just a bit). Nothing crunchy, garlicky, or oniony. Nope, not for me. And I love those little Tostitos scoops, because I can fill the little suckers up to the brim with a mouthful of guacamole goodness.
